periSTART SPE Media Converter

The periSTART media converter is the perfect retrofit solution for connecting new Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) based sensors/actuators/components to your existing network infrastructure. It is the smallest and most affordable SPE media converter on the market and is ideal for use in the field thanks to its small size and robustness.

The periSTART media converter connects networks according to the Ethernet standards 100BaseTX (Fast Ethernet) and 100BaseT1 (SPE) and thus enables seamless communication between your IT system and the sensors/actuators/components of the Perinet Seamless IoT Connectivity System at field level.
As a feed-in point at field level, periSTART also provides the 24V DC supply voltage for the components of the hybrid SPE network. The connection of the individual network components via 4-wire periLINE hybrid cables with robust M8 round connectors complies with the IEC63171-6 standard and, in conjunction with periSWITCH, enables variable network topologies with spur lines and tree structures.

Scopes of Application

Connects SPE sensor networks directly to common Ethernet as used in the IT (100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet IEEE 802.3u).
Feeds in 24VDC Voltage.
